Although it opens somewhat languidly and surprisingly with piano and strings, it is basically the sound of their initial period. There is a note on the jacket urging: "Listening recommended at loudest possible volume," and the album is heavier than most. What is implied is a critique of a system which impedes rash, immediate communication by imposing unnecessary formalities. In addition to Susumu Hirasawa and Yasumi Tanaka's pieces, Katsuhiko Akiyama also contributes three tunes, and takes the lead vocal on track 5. The title "Landsale" is actually a cross-linguistic pun between ransel (a satchel) and treason (when translated literally into Japanese).
